Excellent care can only be provided if the entire concept meets certain standards. At Little Star Day School, we have set ourselves high standards in all areas of care. This includes not only the pedagogical concept, but also the hygiene as well as the safety concept. The following principles form the basis of our daily work:
Feel at Home
Your child should feel at home with us. They should feel safe and have familiar people around them. At Little Star Day School, each child has two primary caregivers who are responsible for both care and communication with parents and within the team. In addition to this primary care, care is also taken to ensure that your child slowly gets to know other people, thus expanding the circle of caregivers within Little Star Day School. Just like in a family.
Continuity & Stability
Your child should feel safe and welcome with us. Personal and trustfull bonds are at the center of this. From day one, our experienced caregivers accompany each new child gently and individually. In consultation with the parents, the needs of the child are integrated into the daily care routine. The change to the next group takes place individually and is always accompanied by a familiar caregiver.
Homogeneous Groups
Children develop differently. That’s why it’s important that the environment and activities are age-appropriate and match the children’s interests. At Little Star Day School, children can take their time playing, exploring, and learning. Each group’s room is set up to match the children’s development, ensuring an age-appropriate and stimulating environment.
Group Sizes & Density of Care
At Little Star Day School, the group size and care ratio is based on the age of the children in that group. We know from research and our experience that children develop best in small, age-homogeneous groups with a good care ratio. At Little Star Day School, the younger the children, the fewer the children and the more caregivers are in a group. This is the only way that children can feel safe and comfortable, while also building secure relationships.
Hygiene & Safety
High standards of hygiene and safety also apply in non-educational, everyday life. In regular internal and external training, all team members are sensitized and trained for these areas. Our internal school rules and guidelines are binding for all our team members and ensure care at the highest level.
