Little Star's Quality

Our High Standards Apply to All Areas of Care

Security Through Key Workers

Feeling Like Home

The child should feel at home with us. They should feel secure and have familiar people around them. At Little Star Day School, every child has two primary key workers who are responsible both for their care and for communication with parents and within the team.

Alongside this key person system, we also ensure that the child gradually gets to know other staff members, expanding their circle of key relationships within Little Star Day School. Just like in a family.

Gentle Guidance

Continuity & Stability

The child should feel safe and welcome with us. Personal relationships are at the centre of this. From the first day, our experienced carers accompany each new child gently and individually.

In consultation with parents, the child's needs are integrated into the daily care routine. The transition to the next group takes place individually and is always accompanied by a familiar member of staff.

High Staff-to-Child Ratios

Group Size & Staffing Levels

At Little Star Day School, group size and staff ratios are determined by the age of the children in each group. We know from research and our experience that children develop best in small age-matched groups with excellent staff ratios.

At Little Star Day School, our principle is: the younger the children, the fewer children and the more carers in the group. Only in this way can children feel safe and comfortable and build secure relationships.

Highest Standards

Hygiene & Safety

High standards for hygiene and safety also apply to day-to-day operations beyond our educational activities. In regular internal and external training sessions, all team members are educated and made aware of these areas.

Our internal policies and guidelines are mandatory for all team members and ensure care to the highest standard.
