As pioneers of bilingual childcare in Switzerland, we have been committed since 2001 to a tried-and-tested concept of our own development: the Early Years Curriculum EYC®. It combines Montessori elements with modern early-years education and Swiss educational standards. At our nursery, children experience bilingualism through the immersion principle "One Person – One Language" — each carer speaks exclusively either English or German.
Our scientifically grounded educational programme forms the foundation for your child's optimal development. We tailor all support measures individually to your child's stage of development and document their progress on a regular basis. We place great importance on maintaining a close dialogue with you as parents, so that we can work together to support your child's development in the best possible way.
In our nurseries in Zurich, Kilchberg and Zug, multilingualism is a natural and intuitive part of everyday life. Through daily interactions, children immerse themselves naturally in the worlds of German and English. By consistently keeping the two languages separate, they develop an intuitive understanding of both language systems. Games, songs, stories and everyday activities in each respective language foster language skills and intercultural understanding, laying a valuable foundation for your child's future.
Respect, motivation, confidence and care accompany every child with us, day after day. We nurture their curiosity, build their self-confidence and create a place where they feel safe and valued. In this way, children grow with us with heart, courage and joy.
Little Star Day School understands the challenges of modern families. Our innovative service concept creates the freedom you need for quality time with your child. Our all-inclusive offering and maximum flexibility make childcare as stress-free as possible.
In age-appropriate groups, our experienced educators provide professional and attentive care, tailored precisely to your child's stage of development.
As a pioneer of bilingual childcare in Switzerland, we offer a unique environment in which children learn German and English simultaneously and effortlessly.
From the first moment in the morning to farewell in the evening, your child is in the very best of hands — with freshly prepared meals, personal attention, a sense of security and a home-from-home atmosphere.
With opening hours from 7:30 to 18:30 and flexible attendance times, we offer childcare that adapts individually to the needs of your family.

"We'd like to thank every single member of your team who looked after our son with such warmth and care. We dropped him off with you each day feeling completely at ease, and that peace of mind is absolutely priceless! Thank you for everything!"
"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for five wonderful years of care for both our children. It wasn't just childcare - it was affection, kindness, security and love. That meant the world to us. We're going to miss you all terribly. We are big fans of Little Star Day School."
"It was an absolute pleasure for our family to bring our daughter and son to Little Star, and they had the most wonderful time there. When our daughter first arrived at Little Star, she was far too shy to speak to anyone. By the time she left, she was chatting away confidently with teachers in both fluent English and German. Our son started when he was just a 10-month-old baby, and when he left at age 4, he'd grown into a bright, confident little boy - completely ready for school. Many thanks for all your brilliant work!"

Settling-in is a sensitive process that we design according to our scientifically-based approach. A key worker accompanies you and your child through this important phase. We begin with short visits in the presence of a parent, whereby your child gradually builds trust with their new environment and care staff.
We implement bilingualism according to the proven immersion principle "One Person - One Language". Each member of staff speaks exclusively in their native language (German or English) with the children. This consistent assignment of person and language enables children to acquire both languages naturally and without pressure. Children experience both languages in authentic everyday situations and develop a natural feel for both language systems. Importantly, we don't pressure children to speak a particular language, but rather support their natural language development.
Documentation of children's development takes place on several levels. The foundation is our digital development portfolio, in which we regularly record observations, learning progress and special moments. This also includes photo and video documentation of projects and activities. This systematic documentation is supplemented by daily updates in our parent app, monthly development reports and detailed personal discussions every quarter. Additionally, we create an individual educational biography for each child, recording their developmental steps, interests and strengths.
Our opening hours from 7:30 to 18:30 allow flexible arrangement of care. You can choose between different care models (2–5 days) and adapt these as needed. Additionally, we offer holiday care and can enable special care hours in exceptional circumstances.
Our daily routine combines clear structures with flexible activity phases. The morning begins with a personal greeting and shared breakfast. In the morning period, age-appropriate educational activities take place, such as language development, creative activities or movement programmes. After lunch and a rest period, further playful activities follow, often in smaller groups or outdoors. Fixed rituals such as shared meals, rest times and group activities provide orientation for children, whilst free play phases leave room for their own discoveries.
